“My husband and I had a totally fabulous time at Few & Far Luvhondo. We have stayed in a number of ‘high end’ Safari Lodges and this one was definitely the most beautiful, elegant and comfortable one of all. And the most eco-friendly too. It was exceptional!

We stayed in one of the six Cliff Suites (No 4). I felt almost ‘caressed’ into the room - it was so beautifully laid out and managed to be both spacious and intimate at the same time. There were indoor and outdoor showers both overlooking the stunning verdant valley below. And, talking about the view, we could lie in our oh so comfortable bed (I’ve never slept so well!) and listen to the sounds of nature below and see right across the valley - where we spotted giraffe on a couple of occasions - wow!

The structure of the main Lodge where we dined and could sit, relax, play games and have a drink at the bar was so beautiful it almost took our breath away. Built around one of the many enormous trees on the Luvhondo land it melds almost seamlessly into the nature around it. The food at Luvhondo was African fine dining, using locally sourced produce, and was delicious. We had a tasting menu one evening, a braie (barbecue) another evening and some amazing traditional African dishes. I don’t eat meat and the chefs Sox and Vusi, managed to conjure up the most delicious flavours for me.

We went on game drives where we saw a vast number of different antelope, giraffes, zebra, warthogs, wildebeest and so many beautiful birds (birding is one of our passions). We didn’t see one of the many leopards but we heard them and saw their tracks, so knew they were out there. Our guides were excellent - friendly, responsive and very knowledgeable as you would expect from a Reserve of this caliber. We knew that this wasn’t a place to go and see the ‘Big Five’ - but we weren’t looking for that. We were looking for a relaxing, tailor-made experience which is precisely what we got.

Apart from game drives, we did some hikes amidst spectacular scenery and very interesting rock formations, saw what we thought were some cave paintings on one of the cliffs (there are probably many more to be discovered) had sight of the solar powered cable car which will be operational later this year a first of its kind, swam in the most wonderful infinity pool which has similar views to our cliff suits, although these are 360 degree views and I had two fantastic spa treatments by Nungo the spa manager there. In short - our five nights at Luvhondo were amazing.”

“A stay at Luvhondo is a truly magical experience. This is not your average safari experience, and is all the more enjoyable for it.

The wilderness - it felt like we had the whole valley to ourselves, and the only limiting factor was the time in which to explore it. The guides were endlessly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and were able to give us a fascinating introduction into this truly stunning biosphere. Our discussion with Dawn, the lodge's conservation lead, was absolutely fascinating, and helped us understand just what incredible work the Few & Far team are doing to protect and regenerate the surrounding area.

The wellness - whilst time in the wilderness may have been food for the soul, time spent at the lodge or in the (stunning) cliff suites was wonderfully relaxing. We were almost overwhelmed with the warmth of all of the staff. The front of house team were incredible, as were every member of staff we met or saw during our time there. Nungo at the spa was just out of this world. The food wonderful in so many ways. The rooms stunning (including beds that are almost too good to be true!).

We will be back. But next time for longer!”
